The history of the Adams Group began in 1988 with the founding of Trans ADM, the first company to be headed by Peter Adams. The original vehicle fleet consisted of tipping semi-trailers and coil wells. Trans ADM soon expanded its business to also cover heavy haulage. This was reflected in the purchase of the first semi low-loaders, drop-deck combinations and modular trailers.
In 1990, the company began to increasingly specialise in special and heavy haulage, which was mirrored by the expansion of its vehicle fleet and range of services. The relocation to new warehouses and offices in 1997 and subsequent investments in specialised equipment enabled the Group to expand its capacity to handle larger and more complex transport assignments throughout Europe.
The acquisition of Heinrich Schwertransporte GmbH in Dresden in 2010 and the establishment of a subsidiary in Sweden in 2022 represent further milestones in the Group's development. Stephan Adams, who has been active in the company since 2008, took over responsibility for the business in the second generation in 2023, while still being supported by the continued guidance from Peter Adams.
Our centrally located offices and production locations in Luxembourg (Weiswampach) and Belgium (Sankt Vith) offer an excellent basis for flexibility and efficiency thanks to their state-of-the-art equipment. We strengthened our presence with a location in Germany (Dresden) in 2010 and expanding into Sweden (Solna) in 2022.
The company operates beyond these locations across Europe, focussing on the Benelux countries, France, Germany, Sweden and the UK.
We can handle heavy transports of up to 1,000 tonnes – both on roads and inland waterways. Our special expertise extends to comprehensive transport and project management for the wind energy industry, ranging from the transport and installation of wind turbines through to their disposal.
We also offer specialised solutions for the transport, installation and disposal of transformers. This diversity of services underlines our versatility and technical expertise in the heavy haulage industry.
